Freedom J am is a voluntary musicians' co-operative movement catalyzed by GURUSKOOL to liberate music from the industry hype and give "live" music the immediacy and ambience to grow and reach out to its audience.

This movement started 10 yrs ago and it has been growing bigger, better, and louder. This free music festival is Bangalore's own Woodstock. Every year thousands of music lovers and over a hundred musicians of all styles music gather to perform at the annual jam celebrating freedom at midnight with music and this festival has become one of the most awaited events in Bangalore. Freedom Jam features everything from rock to carnatic, hip hop to heavy metal, on multiple stages. To perform one may log on to www.freedomjam.net and register.

T his years Freedom Jam is scheduled to Saturday August 27, 2005 and will be held at The Princess Academy, Palace Grounds, Bangalore from 3 pm onwards. There are 3 concert areas, over 50 groups performing on a huge sound system (170,000 watts) and spectacular lights. Over 10,000 people are expected.
