Nature Admire: Adventure activities!

MUDUMALAI- BANDIPUR – WILDLIFE CAMP – 27, 28 Aug 05.

224km South of Bangalore. A little distance past Bandipur in the direction of Ooty, Cross the Auri Gouder Bridge and reach the Mudumalai National Park. Mudumalai has two features that its neighbour doesn’t – Moyar River, and proximity to the imposing Nilgiri mountain ranges. Mudumalai sanctuary is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, at the foothills of the Blue Mountains. The Sanctuary was set up in 19232 and has remained an effectively conserved game park since then. Evergreen forests, grasslands, swamps and a wide variety of wildlife, including one of the largest Pachyderm settlements in India, Gaur, tigers and Panthers to deer, Wild boar and Monitor Lizards can be found here.

Day 1- Masinagudi- Mudumalai

Welcome to Smoky Blue Mountains, Masinagudi is a small village hamlet nestled at the foothills of Nilgiris. Begin your day with inviting smiles of Bisons, Peacock, Wild boars, Elephants and Deers… an enterprising drive through Mudumalai sanctuary to reach the 33 acre campsite- “Quiet Corner”; Refresh; rooms issued on double and Multiple sharings, Trek up to small water fall, which is 6 km away, hidden inside the sanctuary and return for lunch to Campsite. Travel from here to “Theppakadu” Safari. Return to campsite spends evening by rediscovering yourself. O/night stay in Room.

Day 2- Mudumalai- Bandipur.

Tough to wakeup from bed, just juggling, Begin your day with safari at Bandipur after checking out from campsite and an hour drive. Welcome to Bandipur National Park, Park organizes a 45 minutes safari inside the park area, on the return to Bangalore, visit to “HIMVAD GOPALSWAMY BETTA” – a last border of Bandipur. On top of the 350 mt hillock, here is a temple dedicated Lord Krishna or Gopalswamy, as place name express the weather condition, Himvad- Misty. Yes, you’ll experience the entire place covered with Mist. After visit, have a grub at Kamat in Mysore; then drive back to Bangalore.

A tall hillock in the surrounding areas, temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is nestled at the height of 1,350ft ht. Located just 50km away from here, lies in Kolar dist.

**Course**--- ROCK CLIMBING - 28 August 2005
A boy clambers barefoot up a tree. He does it for the pure of joy of climbing; Why doesn’t matter. It is exciting. New. There is a bit of danger. The thrill of adventure in going somewhere he has never been. Historically, rock climbing is one of the components of the broad adventure sport of mountaineering. Along with snow and ice climbing and hiking, rock clim bing is one of the methods used to reach the summit of a peak. Originally this was its only justification; it was one of the roots of the tree of alpinism. Gradually however, it has developed into sport in its own.

Curriculum: Introduction to Rock climbing, equipments, safety, communication, Bouldering, Face climbing, Rappelling, Chimney climbing.

**Joy ride---PARASAILING-28 August 2005

Parasailing, also known as parascending, is a recreational activity where a person is towed behind a vehicle (usually a boat) while attached to a parachute. The parascender has little or no control over the parachute. The activity is primarily an amusement ride, not to be confused with the sport of
paragliding. Land based parasailing has also been formed into competition sport in Northern Europe and especially in Finland. In land based parasailing the parasail is towed behind a car. The sport was developed at the end of 1990's and it's growing fast. First international competitions were held in 2004.
