Kaushik Ganguly's WAARISH, was an ambitious film that needed a committed producer who would leave no stone unturned in bringing the director's dream to the screen and would back the youngest creative team to the fullest. Siddharta Bhattacharya did exactly what was needed. The debut film has been an exercise of patience and dedication, by the entire group of young soldiers, who volunteered to work for this film in order to bring the Master of Telefilm, Kaushik Ganguly to the big screen. Synopsis
Modern world has produced complex, untitled relationships, and unwanted human lives! Babies left unloved in the hands of destiny!
WAARISH is a tender protest against this imbalance of human existence.
The childless Preeti and Subhankar, decided to go for an adoption after prolonged mental adjustments.
Medha, a distant cousin of Subhankar's, suddenly arrives with a little boy, Megh. Medha has come to Kolkata for the treatment of a terminal disease. Being a kind hearted women, Preeti forces Medha to stay at their place for the period of treatment. This takes Subhankar's peace of mind away, since Medha is actually not his cousin!
Faded memories of Darjeeling suddenly come alive, to shake all existing relationships.
But what happens to Megh? What does he do without his mother? Where does he go?
....A story of a child's uncertain future, caused by the games adult play.
